Thanks to you as well Tom. Always warms the cockles when you hear people are interested in what you are proposing.
Incidentally, I am running the same Blondie scenario at Continuum as well. If I am satisfied with it, I already have 'Heart of Glass' and 'Hanging on the Telephone' scenarios sketched out in rough. |

Just emailed this across, but I guess there's no harm offering it up here for public consumption. Some of you may remember it from 2008. It didn't actually go ahead then, so I figured I'd try again. I'm stubborn like that.
GM Name: Ric Baines
System: Lacuna Part 1: The Creation of the Mystery and the Girl from Blue City
Title: Into the Blue
Description: Sinister secret agents with shadowy employers and mysterious pasts. A bizarre landscape built from six-billion human minds. Arachnid-headed beings that guard a war-torn borderzone. And all the worst that Mankind has to offer, stalking the alleyways and crumbling buildings of a place called Blue City.
Is it a dream? Is it a nightmare? Or is it just a game? And are you already playing?
Best described as a twisted hybrid of The Matrix, The Cell and Dark City, in Lacuna the player characters are Mystery Agents, who 'dive' into Blue City - a surreal manifestation of the shared human consciousness - to track down and destroy Hostile Personalities.
The pace constantly driven by the characters' ever-increasing heartrates, the further into Blue City they go, the higher the risk. Furthermore, their mysterious employers, guiding their actions from the outside world, may not necessarily be on their side...
No. of players: 4
Preferred slot(s): Saturday afternoon, if possible. If not, Sunday afternoon. |

Here are my games for Furnace this year:
REUNION
System: River of Heaven (OpenQuest)
Number of players: 4-6
When: Saturday PM
Length: 3-4 hours
Synopsis:
Quickened in the manufactories of Tel-Haddad, the Cape Verde is the newest addition to the interstellar trading fleet of House Harper-Yung. At just over four light-hours out of Alpha Centauri B, its stellar-tap drive should be steadily accelerating the ship out of the system on its eight-year long journey towards Barnard’s Star.
But it isn’t.
The Cape Verde is slowing down.
Wrenched from Vitrification by the ship's Stepdaughter, and suffering from the side-effects of an Emergency Revival, it is down to you to investigate and rectify the situation.
But with half the crew missing, and the Stepdaughter offline, it isn't going to be easy...
About River of Heaven
It is the dawn of the 28th Century.
The Third Renaissance, or Bright Age as future historians will call it, is at its zenith.
After the catastrophic first contact with extra-terrestrial life that led to the horrific Solar System war, humanity clawed its way back from the brink and finally reached the stars. For millions of people, Earth’s sun is no more than another star in the night sky, a mote of light, a spiritual birthplace that they will never visit in their lifetimes.
It has been over a century since the Machine Civilisation gifted humanity technological marvels such as the Visser Cube, allowing wormhole travel across the vast chasms of interstellar space. Now interstellar distances grow ever shorter. How the myriad of splintered cultures view this gift varies. Some see it as a blessing, a way to draw humanity into a united whole. Others see it as a curse, robbing them of their individuality. And then there are those who would use it as a means to subjugate humanity and impose their own will upon all…
Across the river of heaven, humanity clings to a scattering of islands in a sea of stars. Players can take on a multitude of roles in this future: a crew member on an interstellar trader, a member of the mysterious Engineers’ Guild, a body-hopping Intercessionist agent – out to manipulate human cultures to its own secret ends, a Renouncer Zealot – intent on destroying Artificial Intelligence in all its forms, or perhaps one of the Reclaimers – planetary engineers dedicated to terraforming any viable planet they happen upon…
River of Heaven uses D101 games' OpenQuest rules engine; a sleek and streamlined D100 rule set that enables you to maintain the tempo of your stories whilst keeping the rules simple and in the background.
THE GANYMEDE JOB
System: Cthulhu Rising (Call of Cthulhu)
Number of players: 3-6
When: Sunday AM
Length: 3-4 hours
Synopsis:
You prefer to call yourselves freelance specialists. Others prefer to call you corporate mercenaries, but what's in a name? Besides, the pay is good, and as the man once said: It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it.
On face value it looked like a juicy contract: infiltrate a corporate lab on Ganymede and steal an item of interest to your employers. A simple piece of corporate espionage. You go in, you grab the goods, and you get out.
You thought all you had to fear was getting caught. You were wrong. Very wrong...
There's so many great games been offered so far in this thread, looks like it's going to be a great convention. _________________ Ottomancer
