UK Roleplayers appears to be broken. I've been getting page not found, or a page saying 'It Works!' for two days now on two separate PCs (so I don't think it's a machine-specific problem). Can anyone else get on there, or is there something some of you know that I don't?

The server hosting the site seems to have broken. It's displaying the default Apache2 page.
I'll get on to the company responsible for the server and see what I can do.

Posting from sunny Florida
Thanks Neil, anything you can do to help is much appreciated. I did email the support guys but haven't heard anything back. Unfortunately, I'm not back in the UK until a week on Wednesday.
Edit: Hey, my 500th post was from Florida _________________

For those not on Facebook, the site has been moved to a new server. The front page is up but the forums don't work properly. Looking in to that and hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Frustratingly, I can't access UKRP via my computers any more - not my MacBook at home, nor my PC at work. I've deleted cookies, cleared the cache, hard refreshed numerous times, rebooted my modem, and tried Firefox, IE, Safari *and* Chrome. All the same result - a blank screen loading up. I can access it fine using my iPhone. Very bizarre indeed.
Anyone had the same prob, or could offer solutions? _________________ Furnace Games Tsar |

The blank forum problem appears to be some king of caching problem, caused by proxies at the ISPs, not locally at the device (computer, phone, tablet). I'm currently experiencing the issue with PlusNet and Vodaphone. I have yet to try with Three.
It's a right royal pain in the bum, but all we can do is wait for the cached pages to expire and then everything should return to normal.

Any idea how long it takes for cached pages to expire? _________________ Furnace Games Tsar |

Absolutely none I'm afraid, as it's dependent on how the ISP has configured their servers. One would hope 24 hours max, but I've known it be much much longer than that.
So it really is a case of just sitting it out I'm afraid.

It appears to have gone toes up again, with the following error message:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]
Too many connections [1040]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists. |

The new server needs a tweak to it's configuration, that's this morning's job once I've fed the cats. Then the message will disappear and the forums will work properly again.
Should be sorted in an hour or so.
