Is centralism and nannyism frequent bed fellows of politically actualized socialism? I always thought so.
It's a tempting step from nanny to dominatrix.
I enjoyed playing Baltar very much, I think I nailed him. I found myself trying to get alternative skill cards to have collateral to vote against anyone taking the presidency from the Cylon Admiral.

Making the Cylon Admiral president was my one stroke of inspiration in the game. With so much power in the hands of one of us we quickly crushed them.

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Quite a lot...

Furnace
Yog Sothoth

and if a Dragonmeet Midlands comes into existance, I would like to attend that as well.

Games-wise : Continuing my Savage Worlds Fallout campaign with the local group, probably resting to revisit my Rolemaster campaign later in the year. All interrupted by the odd game of Call of Cthulhu, and Cthulhu Rising. Plus I am determined to try out running modern day Call of Cthulhu (or Cthulhu Rising even ) via Skype, as long as I can get enough people interested.

Smith has the chops - but an even younger Doctor seems a pretty clear declaration of "more of the same, but with more heart throb appeal" from the producers, which is not a direction I have any enthusiasm for. We shall see how it all works out come spring 2010.

Pff, age is just a number and should be no factor in his ability to perform in the role. He's an adult, an actor with experience in television and theatre, and was tipped as one to watch in 2008.

I think that it is a bit naïve to think that the age of a Charater portrayed as an authority figure will not affect how others react to them.

I also feel that such a youthful Doctor puts us right back into the position of having him been chased around the TARDIS by his damp-panted female assistants - something I very much hoped we had put behind us.

Loz wrote:

I think a young Doctor raises some very interesting questions and possibilities that you wouldn't tackle if the Doctor stayed around the 30/40 mark (which is, ultimately, boring and predictable).

Its a brave move, and I'll be interested to see if it pays off.

The trouble is I have no desire to see Time Lord Babies!

Hmm. Obviously my info is out of date. Nevertheless at this rate there might be enough for a quarterly or occasional "Northampcon" - ala TomCon, maybe.

First, as in next week, I need to pick up the various loose threads of possibilities that have already presented themselves, both here and elsewhere.

To be honest that are much of a muchness. I've used both and settled on Fusion version 2, but then I've always been a fan of VMWare's products.

Parallels has just reached version 4 which I haven't taken a look at. Might be worth picking up a cheap copy of an earlier version of either and looking at the upgrade offers that are available.

For the task you're looking to use it for, either will be fine.
